Drama Prize - Commissioned by the Executive Committee of the Anglesey Eisteddfod

The commission was for a piece which reflected the donation in memory of a famous"son" of the area sponsoring the prize. He was an actor

who lived in the village of Bodffordd throughout his life. I used Sycamore from a tree which had been felled in the village, and the black and

white was powdered coal dust from a local pit, and ground limestone from a local quarry. This was the first attempt I have made at carving

relief lettering on a piece and it took a long time! The platter, 65 cms in diameter, was finished in Danish Oil and lightly waxed.
